Awarded for :
Outstanding stainless steel products that have exemplified inspiration, vision, innovation, leadership and action for the environment or have improved environmental measures in the manufacturing or processing of stainless steels.

SERVICES


Awarded for :
Excellent service to the stainless steel conversion and/or beneficiation industry, including excellent products and services that have aided the industry to become more efficient, or knowledgeable and/or enhanced the quality of the stainless steel product being manufactured.

WELDING


Awarded for :
Innovative application of welding in manufacturing to minimise the cost and optimise the quality of fabricated products.

MANUFACTURING INNOVATION


Awarded for :
Innovation in a manufacturing process or technique which uses or is used for producing stainless steel products, which significantly improves the operational simplicity, maintenance, efficiency, reliability, throughput and consumption of stainless steel.

Awarded for :

AGRO PROCESSING / FOOD AND BEVERAGE


Awarded for :
Innovative design and use of stainless steel in the agro processing and food and beverage industry.

ARCHITECTURE, BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION


Awarded for :
Innovative, extensive, productive and excellent use of stainless steel in a commercial, industrial or domestic structure or in an engineering, community or urban project.  The subject should be aesthetically pleasing, environmentally and user friendly and cost efficient with low maintenance.

Use of ferritic stainless steels in an application that demonstrates innovation, life-cycle cost effectiveness, substitution and growth potential.

Awarded for :
An innovative new product or existing product development in stainless steel exhibiting functionality, environmental performance, design for recycling, improvement over existing product quality, environmental friendliness, upliftment of productivity or lifestyle, enhanced competitiveness and operative simplicity.

RULES

  • All entries will be treated in the strictest confidence
  • All entries much reach Sassda by 15 September 2018
  • Entries can be sent via email to awards@sassda.co.za
  • Alternative entries can be delivered to Sassda’s offices,
    1st Floor, Block D

  • All entries must be illustrated with original photographs.
  • All entries must be accompanied by an executive summary/short motivation as to why the entry deserves an award
  • Additional materials such as slides, diagrams, audiovisual material and CDs, DVDs and video tapes may also be included
  • Scaled models may be submitted if applicable
  • Entrants should provide references for sourcing additional information where required.e.g. contact name and telephone number of a customer or client.
  • Each submission is limited to a single design or project and should be done with the prior approval of the principal parties concerned.
  • The name which appears on the entry form as “Name of Entrant” will be considered by the panel of judges to be the person or company responsible for the submission of the entry. Similarly, if applicable the “Name of Entrant” shall be the name used if this is the winning entry.
  • The judges have the right to reject any submission for which the documentation does not comply with the stated requirements of submission and entry.
  • Sassda is granted permission to use winning entries for publicity purposes
  • Employees and suppliers of Sassda and their respective families are not allowed to enter
  • The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • Winners will be announced at a banquet dinner to be held on 25 October 2018 at The Indaba Hotel, Fourways, Johannesburg
