The Tank Container industry, through Satca, held its first joint exhibition stand at Marichem in Amsterdam in November last year. The stand had displays from Columbus Stainless, Duva Chemicals, Hulett Aluminium, Structa Industries and Swift Engineering. Swift Engineering launched its new manlid, and Duva Chemicals arranged for a full size electro polished container to be delivered to the stand. There was immense interest in all products from the visitors and Satca, Welfit Oddy and Columbus all presented papers at the conference.
Consani, Trencor and Welfit Oddy exhibited on their own stands, displaying numerous containers and showing the world why South Africa is the leading manufacturer of this product.
Satca is well on the way to developing the next generation of containers. A workshop held at the CSIR with all the main players, should assist in combating new threats from China and South America.
