STELOY, the foundry based in Ekandustria, became a member of SASSDA in May 1985 and had its first melt on 18 July 1985. They believe that anyone involved with stainless steel can only benefit by becoming a member of SASSDA – the Association designed to develop and promote the stainless steel industry in South Africa.
Equipped with the latest and most modern foundry equipment available anywhere in the world, with the service of one of the most experienced team of foundry and industrial personnel, Steloy Stainless Precision Castings ranks as one of the most technologically advanced foundries in South Africa.
Steloy is totally committed to producing of the highest quality on time to meet with its customer’s every demand and requirement. The company’s major market is the pump and valve manufacturers where stainless steel castings offer a longer life due to corrosion resistance.
The company’s modern foundry equipment includes medium frequency induction furnaces, an emission spectrometer, sandmixers, a gas-fired heat treatment furnace coupled to an aerated quenching facility. It also has a fully equipped pattern shop, shot blasting machines and associated equipment. The sand is delivered dry and blown into a storage silo, one of the latest trends being used in Europe and in the United States. Steloy also has a completely equipped laboratory to ensure that the highest metallurgical standards are adhered to.
The company casts and heat treats castings in-house for its customers to the highest international specifications required. This ensure that Steloy has all the production processes under its control all under one roof.
In addition to this, through its own research and development programme, Steloy is always able to assist clients and customers with potential new products and an advisory service.
The company’s expertise coupled with the most modern equipment and up-to-date technology places it in the forefront of foundry production and techniques, designed specifically to meet the engineering needs of today.
